St. Louis-born painter Wallace Herndon Smith traveled extensively in Europe and the United States, producing landscapes, still-lifes and portraits that have an affinity to the works of Henri Matisse and Edward Hopper. The exhibition is organized by the Sheldon Art Galleries and is drawn from the collection of the Bellwether Foundation and will feature Smith’s portraits and figurative paintings.
