After the Civil War, black Missouri soldiers and white officers founded one of Missouri’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Lincoln Institute. Dr. Miller W. Boyd, III will highlight the efforts of these soldiers and how their military service shaped the evolving ideas about liberty, freedom, and citizenship.
Sign language interpretation will be provided at this program.
This program takes place in the Pruitt and O’Hare Rooms (206/207) on the upper level of Soldiers Memorial.
